Come by El Qilombo on March 26th from 5 – 7 to write letters to currently
incarcerated Black Panther Party comrades.
Marshall “Eddie” Conway was released early from prison on March 4! (Read more here.) He was part of secondary leadership of the Black Panther Party in Baltimore in 1970, a chapter corrupted by the presence of several undercover pigs, when he was accused of shooting a cop and locked up. Conway’s arrest was part of a coordinated effort to destroy the national leadership of the Black Panther Party and weaken the organized resistance of Black communities in this country.
Come celebrate his freedom while we remember his comrades still behind bars. We will have a list of people to write to and some information on their cases. You should feel free to write to whomever you want to, though, including family and friends who are locked up! We’ll have everything for the writing and sending of letters, but bring snacks if you want to!
