While moving into his new home, mid-Friday morning on May 2, 2014 in Clayton County, GA, police officers surrounded 69-year-old Bin Wahad’s home with their guns drawn. From inside the house, Bin Wahad noticed an officer below his bedroom window. Bin Wahad was asked to come outside. He was then grabbed by police and had his arm twisted behind his back as he stepped outside.
Bin Wahad, was later allowed to sit on the porch while police searched his home. Without warning or provocation, the police suddenly grab Bin Wahad and slam him face down on the concrete. He sustained injuries to wrist, arm, neck, shoulder, back, and head. Police later released him after realizing that Bin Wahad was moving into his new home as he initially attempted to explain to them. In reports submitted by the officers involved, they described the 69 year-old as a “flight risk”, uncooperative, and aggressive. Unbeknownst to police, a neighbor videotaped the entire incident on his cell phone.
