Black Star is a book which documents and analyses the impact of the Muslim International, ie., the tradition of radical and popular resistance and liberation to western imperialism in the internationalist traditions of those inspired by Islam, from that of the Non-Aligned Movement, to the impact on the Nation of Islam and especially Malcolm X as well as Muhammad Ali, as well as the cultural impact manifested in Hip-Hop and Cinema. Israel confirms it has reached deal with one African country willing to absorb African migrants living in Israel, and is pursing similar agreements with four other states.

The government has refused to reveal which countries are involved.

In an affidavit submitted by the state to the High Court of Justice on Sunday, an envoy appointed by right-wing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the African countries in question have asked not to be named. Israel has agreed to the request, he said, due to the “diplomatic and political sensitivity” of the issue.

The envoy, Hagai Hadas, said that he has recently made a trip to promote the deal with one of the countries.

“During this visit, we have reached major points of agreements with the country that has consented, at this stage, to serve as a destination for some of the [migrant] populations at stake,” he said. “However, specific details regarding these populations have yet to be addressed, and operational measures have yet to be devised.”

He added that Israel is in “advanced” talks with four other states regarding similar agreements, without offering any specifics. Continue reading
